With almost 30 years experience
we have had to deal with virtually every request for exhibits and displays
that you could possibly imagine. The huge range of displays and custom
applications we have fabricated truss for is mind boggling. The one
thing we have learned is that a well informed customer is a happy customer.

of the products we will be working with and some of the possible choices
you will have to make when deciding on the trussing system you require.

you to make a comfortable decision on the display or exhibit you would like.

A truss is
fabricated with chords and webs to provide a linear structure
with load bearing properties. Truss is available in 2, 3 and 4 chord.
There are two product categories. 1" and 2"
chord truss. The 2" chord truss being stronger and more useful where
long spans and display size exceed 10' . 1" chord truss is fantastic
for retail displays and exhibits that do not need the mass and strength
of the larger truss. 2" truss uses 1/2" webbing and the 1"
truss uses 1/4" webbing. Both are strong and attractive but choosing
the right truss size for your project is the first decision to be made.
2, 3 and
4 Chord Truss
Truss is manufactured
is in 2, 3 and 4 chord configurations each having its own look
and structural advantages. The 2 chord truss is normally used when strength
or support is not an issue but the high tech appearance of aluminum truss
is desired. 3 chord truss is a cost effective approach to displays and
exhibits requiring structural strength and where long spans are needed.
Our 4 chord truss is the best choice for large projects and structures
that require its bold and powerful appearance.
Corners
and Junctions and Swivels
The unlimited
design possibilities make truss structures the perfect choice when developing
a new display or exhibit. Modular, light weight truss components that
easily interconnect to form virtually any structural configuration with
remarkable strength to weight ratios. A main part of any structure are the
corners and junctions used to create angles and corners. These provide
the versatility that you will need to create your design concept. Junctions
come in all lines of truss, 2, 3 and 4 chord and in any orientation.
There are many stock angles, 2, 3, 4 and 5 way connections. Below
are are a few of the most popular junctions and corners used but keep in
mind that any junction can be fabricated to form the shape and feel you require

Swivels are used to connect when a
mix of 2, 3 and 4 chord trusses are being used together. They can
also be used in situations where junctions can not be fabricated easily.
These make strong, clean connections and are great for difficult joints.
Orientation
Orientaion
choices are made in the design and fabrication of 2 and 3 chord truss
displays and exhibits. These decisions are made to enhance appearence and
or strength.
When using 2 chord truss you can choose to have Vertical
or Horizontal orientation. With Vertical you will get load bearing
strength on the display for hanging fixtures and other media. Horizontal
orientation gives you a full wide look but you will not get any structural
strength in this position. Uprights / legs can be put across corner junctions
or on front or back of joints to create different looks. Ask our support team
which will work best for your next display or exhibit.
When designing a structure using 3 Chord truss orientation
must always be considered. This will directly affect the over all appearance
of your display. The diagrams to the left illustrate the position of the
truss and of the apex. This diagram assumes you are standing under a piece
of truss and looking up at it. Apex In would point into a display or exhibit
that has a full perimeter around it and Apex Out would point out of the perimeter.

Base
Plates
Base plates are used to protect and
enhance the look of a display or exhibit. They are available in 2, 3 and
4 chord in either 1" or 2" truss sizes. Standard plates are 3/16" thick
and 12" truss 1/4" thick. Made from aluminum plate these pieces finish
off any structure and provide a good solid foot print for mounting to floors
or any surface. Custom cut or shaped plates can be made upon request.
Weight
Loads
Weight loads
and overall structural stability are always something to consider when
designing a display or exhibit. On this web site we offer some guidelines
on weight loads for the different styles of truss. Using these guidelines
you should be able to form a good decision on the size and style of truss
you will require to suit your needs. Weights and loads are described in
UDL = Uniformly distributed Loads and in Point Loads. UDL would mean
your weight or load on the structure is spaced evenly across a span of truss
as opposed to Point load which would mean all or most of the weight being
placed in the center of a span of truss. These guidelines are based on a
solid piece or span of truss. Connections and inserts do weaken a structure
so we always try to use as few connections as possible. If you are in need

Braces
and Outriggers
Braces and
outriggers are used to stabilize and support structures where strength
of an area may be in question.
Outriggers are an angled piece of truss that slopes back or
in front of a vertical upright / leg providing the necessary support
to hold a structure up or in place.
Braces
are use to stabilize or support a corner span of truss that may need
extra strength.
